Qui sommes-nous?

The Interactive Museum of Jewish Montreal is an online and mobile museum of Montreal's Jewish community. It seeks to make the heritage of places, events, people and stories of the community engaging and easily accessible from anywhere through online and mobile technology.

Le musée interactif du Montréal juif (MIMJ) est un musée virtuel et mobile de la communauté juive de Montréal. Il vise à rendre accessibles les lieux, les événements, les personnes et les histoires de la communauté par le biais d’Internet et des technologies mobiles.

Why We Exist

Pourquoi Nous Existons

The Interactive Museum of Jewish Montreal is being created at a crucial point for the Jewish community, which turned 250 years old in 2010. Young people are returning to the neighborhoods of their immigrant grandparents and great-grandparents. Many members of older generations seek to share their memories and stories with their children and grandchildren. The Jewish community looks to tell its unique story to its neighbors in Montreal and visitors from around the world.

Le Musée interactif du Montréal juif a été fondé à un moment décisif pour la communauté juive montréalaise, qui a célébré son 250e anniversaire en 2010. De nos jours, les jeunes juifs retournent dans les quartiers où vivaient leurs grands-parents et leurs arrière-grands-parents immigrants afin de connaître leur histoire. En parallèle, nombreux sont les membres des générations passées qui souhaitent partager leurs souvenirs et leurs histoires avec leurs descendants. La communauté juive veut quant à elle raconter son histoire particulière à ses voisins de Montréal et aux visiteurs du monde entier.

Map - Mapping Jewish Montreal from its origins in the 1760s until today.

Retracer sur une carte géographique le Montréal juif, de son émergence durant les années 1760 jusqu'à aujourd'hui.

Exhibit - Providing written descriptions for sites on the map and linking them to images from archives from around the world.

Décrire des lieux sur la carte géographique et les associer à des images tirées des archives..

Personalize - Connecting exhibits to personal stories, narrations, songs, poems, and films.

Associer les expositions à des histoires personnelles, des récits, des chansons, des poèmes et des films.

Launch - Creating a virtual museum and mobile applications so that the viewer can interact with our community's history at home or on the street.

Lancer un musée virtuel et des applications mobiles permettant à l’utilisateur de découvrir l’histoire de la communauté, que ce soit à la maison ou dans la rue.

The Interactive Museum of Jewish Montreal acts as a platform to exhibit all sorts of projects that relate to Montreal's Jewish heritage through geolocational technology. We help incubate projects from all levels of expertise in order to find funding and then to deliver them on the web and through our mobile applications. Êtes-vous intéressé à faire découvrir votre travail dans le cadre d’une exposition novatrice? Le Musée interactif du Montréal juif agit comme une plateforme d’exposition pour tous différents types de projets reliés à l’héritage juif montréalais qui utilisent la technologie de géo-localisation. Le Musée interactif du Montréal juif invite les artistes, les spécialistes de l’histoire orale, les chercheurs universitaires, les étudiants et les collectionneurs du milieu communautaire à présenter un projet d’exposition virtuelle associé à l’héritage juif de Montréal. Nous appuyons la réalisation d’une grande variété de projets en aidant les candidats à trouver du financement, puis en diffusant leur travail sur le web et d’autres plate-formes électroniques. Le caractère virtuel du Musée comporte deux avantages : les expositions sont diffusées auprès d’un public élargi et elles sont diffusées durant une longue période.
